Notes - Cannot find any census data after 1861. He joined the Merchant Navy 14/4/1870, aged 16 (ship "Italy") but deserted when at New York 19/4/1871.

1910, same address, occ "Superintendent", at a Rubberworks
1920, as for 1910.
He appears to be in the UK for visits.
Most internet evidence seems to say Mary died in Penns. 1924
