  There is no obvious clarity about what happens next. There are 2 Ralph Barbers in the 1841 Census in and around Macclesfield, one of whom appears to die, the other continues, albeit with a different wife in 1871 and 1881 compared with 1851. Given that this Ralph gives his DOB as 1830 or 1831 (matching a Ralph born to Thomas and Sarah), it seems likely that it is our Ralph who has died. Even then there are 2 possibilities - either 1847 or 1848
