  Notes	The marriage licence adds some interesting additional details. It is noted they married by licence rather than by banns. This is probably because one or both of the parties were non conformist. Peter swears before the curate who did the ceremony on the same day (and presumably before) the ceremony that there was no reason not to marry, and because he was 20, (she was 21), there were two people (who also witnessed the marriage), Richard POTTS and Thomas JORDAN, who swore that his father, Samuel, did not object to the marriage.

  Notes	There is no obvious Sarah who married Richard Potts. The closest I can find is in Cheadle (Sarah SMAIL), 2/8/1821, 12 miles away, and crucially it says that both come from Cheadle. Whilst it is clearly possible it seems very unlikely. So I am still looking..... William and Ann POTTS, both aged 0, were buried 11 and 12 March 1830. Not obvious if these are part of this family or not.
