• Notes

  One internet source has birth 6/12/1851 The burial records indicate that her brother in law Arthur Ling was involved (and hence is proof of the correct details). Laura was clearly a resident at the Royal Cambridge Care Home when she died. It is assumed this is the same as the Cambridge Asylum [aka "refuge2"] for Soldiers Widows. Soldiers were privates and non comissioned officers. Soldiers widows had to be elected to the home, but both the widow and the soldier had to be of good character.
