- "Greenwood" is a common name, so finding out anything about Sarah's past is not straightforward. However her father is Henry, and when Sarah is married he gives his occupation as Weaver.
Also, assuming that her birth given in the 1851 Census is correct, and assuming they were in still in Wadsworth 10 years later, then there are only 2 possible entries for Sarah Greenwood, daughter of Henry in Wadsworth in 1841, with Sarah born between 1929 and 1931 (ie to match what is said in 1851). There is a 12 year old Sarah, whose father is a "Delver" or something similar. There is no obvious occupation for the writing. However the scenario used, where Sarah is 10, and therefore a closer match to the 1851 Census, has her father as a Weaver, which is consistent with the marriage. Assuming this is correct, Sarah's mother is Olive.
It is not clear when Sarah died. There is a GRO reference for Jan qtr 1855, but this is at Saddleworth, which seems surprising. There is a complete absence of names beginning with "Fie" in the 1856 register, so it may be a reference problem. Hence the data from the non-conformist register is used.
In any event it is assumed that she died before Robert married again in 1857.
