Notes - Although there are records of the North Tawton typhoid fever in 1839-40, it seems likely that Typhoid was the cause of death here - but it is less well noticed as Budd, the physician who reported on the 1839-40 outbreak was not here. The burial records indicate a wide range of ages being buried, and this also supports the notion that there was a widespread illness.
