[3] Notes - The 1851 Census and birth of Margaret describes the location as "Ampherlaw". Best guess is this is Ampherlaw Farm, which was quite extensive. David is assumed to be a farm worker (he is "Labourer" in the Censusses). But he is also "Railway worker" in 1851. I note that there is or was a railway cottage just across the railway, and so there may have been some manual work associated with this - perhaps dealing with railway wagons? The 1851 Census is for "Craigie Hill Cottage", and I am not sure where this is. Either it is on the farm, or it is the Railway cottage.

Notes - It is curious that there is both Margaret Martin and Margaret Brown Martin, but there do appear to be different entries on the 1861 Census, and appear to be separate entries in the Births record. Note that this is strictly parallel transcripts, so the original documents may tell a different story.
I have not found either Margaret in 1871 Census, so clarification is not possible yet.
The census has her as 10 in 1861, but the transcript has her being born in 1852. However I wonder if she was born in 1851, but baptised with her sister in 1852. This seems more likely than anything else, and has been used here. The day and monthin the transcript is assumed to be correct
