| Notes |
- The 1851 Census and birth of Margaret describes the location as "Ampherlaw". Best guess is this is Ampherlaw Farm, which was quite extensive. David is assumed to be a farm worker (he is "Labourer" in the Censusses). But he is also "Railway worker" in 1851. I note that there is or was a railway cottage just across the railway, and so there may have been some manual work associated with this - perhaps dealing with railway wagons? The 1851 Census is for "Craigie Hill Cottage", and I am not sure where this is. Either it is on the farm, or it is the Railway cottage.
