Notes - There is no very clear data following his baptism, but the 1851 Census that indicates somebody from Bow is very likely. This then implies a marriage to Selina (GLASS), which is 25/12/1845 in Wellington, and therefore the 1881 and 1891 Censuses, which give his place of birth as Somerset. Slocombe is a common Somerset name, so there may be errors in this logic, but it does seem to be very likely correct.
There is less confidence in the 1841 Census.
