  • Notes
    • Census info after 1881 is unclear. The most probable is at the Camberwell Workhouse; in 1891 there is a John James Desborough, occ given as "General Dealer", birthplace Croydon, but aged 65. Then in 1901, same location, John Desborough, aged 69, but born in Rochester. There is no better match in the census indexes, and it is consistent with somebody who might have had failing memory etc... and clearly matches the possible death details. Another vague possibility for 1891 Census in St Mary Newington, John Desborough is a 63 year old rope maker, birth given as Ramsgate, but this might have been a mishearing/misrepresentation for Rochester. The family he is with do not match any obvious details in our family. Of course this might be the same John Desborough who appears at the workhouse in 1901.

There is no obvious death details other than 1902.
