• Notes

  At 1851 Census his name might read "Annis", but closer inspection suggests it probably is "Louis". There is an Agnes Desborough born about same time in Camberwell but does not at the moment appear to be a twin.... Stated birth comes from the earliest document, ie 1851 Census. Later Censusses give other places, and so the birthplace used may be incorrect. Both he and Caroline appear to be in the 1891 Census, he in Camberwell Workhouse as widowed. If so he probably died 4 Jun 1902 at the Camberwell Workhouse, and is therefore probably given as John Desborough (a69, born Rochester, descrribed as "feebleminded") in the 1901 Census.
