Notes - He is mentioned (I think) in brother Thomas's will of 1907, which is at variance with the death date.
Family notes say he was a Session Clerk and also a Sunday School Superintendent at Broughty Ferry.
Buried at Barn (or Ban?) Hill, Dundee
The Dundee Courier of Mon 20 Jan 1902 which announces his death mentions his role as an Elder and Session Clerk for the Broughty Ferry Union UF (United Free) church. It then goes on to say "...a working man in the generally accepted sense of the term, [he] had gifts as a speaker of high order, and his knowledge of the Bible was a distinguishing trait in his character."
On the 8th Sept 1902, it records the plaque put up in his memory. It records the minister saying "...one who was an instrument of blessing to Union Church congregation in the person of Mr James Anderson." The minister also "recalled his beautiful and winsome ways...to know him was a high honour indeed"
