Family Elizabeth DEWAR, b. 9 Mar 1782, Brae, Pitcastle, Perthshire Marriage 19 Nov 1808 Dull, Perthshire [4]
Notes - Some of the sources I have looked at have the marriage in Dull, although some sources indicate that they were married in Weem, which is now a neighbouring parish. Dull is preferred as this appears to be Elizabeth's home parish. The situation is complicated by the fact that the parish boundaries were changed in 1889, so it is possible that they were married in Weem, especially as the information comes from transcripts of the original document.
They were tenant farmers in Murthly, near Dunkeld.

Notes - Farmed at the Mains farm in Murthly
The name Patrick has been chosen as this matches the most likely baptism. Both Peter and Patrick appear as married to Elisabeth DEWAR - most notably the gravestone of Alexander FISHER which makes Elizabeth the wife of Patrick, and the baptism of the key family member of Janet FISHER, where it is Peter and Elizabeth. I find it unlikely that we are dealing with 2 people who married the same person in the area. Patrick and Peter appear to have been synonomous in Scotland, with Patrick being a more formal name and Peter being a more family name.
Data for his baptism, and thus parents etc is the most likely on IGI, so may not be correct.
