Notes - The 1871 and 1881 Censusses say he was unmarried.
The story after 1881 is not completely clear, but it seems likely that he was in and out of James Murray's Royal Asylum in Perth. There does not seem to be any other records of him, and his address in 1881 is certainly close to Perth, and so this hospital would be the one to which he would be sent.
That being the case, it would seem that he was admitted on
8/2/1878, presumably returning in time for the 1881 Census on 3rd April
17/5/1881, presumably leaving at some point
26/8/1884, when he stayed until his death.
- The 1871 and 1881 Censusses say he was unmarried.
