Notes - When he enlisted in the Royal Engineers to be a sapper on 5/12/1915, he was living at 2, Ogilvies Road, Dundee as a Tailor. This is where his mother was living. Assume his father had died. His age was given as 19y 3m at enlistment, height 5' 10", good eyesight and physical development. He had pleurisy in 1913.
He arrived in France 11/1/1917 in the 12th Btn The Sherwood Foresters and then to the ?16th Btn? (Also known as the Notts and Derby Regiment) on 2/2/17 and killed in action 3/8/17
