  Notes	There is little clear about who Mary is, and where they married. Superficially the best match given the names is a marriage between William IZZARD and Mary GIBBS 1/10/1747 in Banbury. There is no obvious reason for them being in Banbury unless they wanted to get married in a location that did not know they already had a child. But this is the only event I can find on the internet with the right names. Alternatively, William IZARD and Mary WALKER who marry at Baldock 11/4/1732. This then begs the question about apparently missing children between then and 1746. Assuming the burial information is for the right people, it also means that both were close to if not over 80 when they died, which would be unusual for people in this environment. Mary might be a middle name and the marriage might have been with a Christian name (or vice versa). This means that possibly William IZARD and Grace JAMES 15/12/1749 at Baldock is possible, but this seems less likely than either of the others. One other somewhat intriguing story which appears to be popular on the internet is about Mary IZZARD. Mary was a master ???[unclear] who took on Mary CAMFIELD as an apprentice on 18 Feb 1744/5. It would be fun if Mary Camfield married Wright, but the only marriages I can find are to different people.

  Wright Izzard is a very unusual name. IGI for England reports 28 instances for exact match on christian and surname, but essentially they come down to:- a) Wright being born to Wright and bapt 1693 in Willian. b) There are other children born to Wright in Willian and baptised in 1696 (John) and 1713 (Michael). The mother is given as Frances and so it is assumed she is also mother of Wright bapt 1693 c) There is Wright marrying Ann ROWE 21/11/1780 in Great Paxton, Huntington d) There is Wright and Sarah having a daughter, Sarah, baptised in Willian in 1722. The presumption is that this is the same Wright as baptised in 1693. (See also below). Using IGI with the exact match switched off for christian and surnames, but again for the whole of England and with "birth" dates from 1680-1745 results in 77 hits, with the following additional information:- e) Wright and Frances have Sarah (1699) and Elizabeth (1710), in Willian f) Wright and Sarah have John (1718), Daniel (1725), Elizabeth (1727) and William (1730), all in Willian Again with IGI in England looking for exact matches of Wright as a Christian name born between 1690 and 1730 (the likely maximum range for the family we have) leads to 82 matches, none of which are practical. The most likely would be Wright IVES bapt 1724 in Buckinghamshire. Switching off exact match increases this to 257, but none look likely. Findmypast identifies the wedding of Wright and Sarah EVERET on 13/4/1715 in Willian. (Interestingly George IZZARD married Sarah GRAPES in May. Is George a brother, not found in IGI above?) There is a Wright IZARD who voted in the poll in Sept 1727 in Hertfordshire, Willian. There is no evidence of a Wright Izzard marrying a Mary. It may be that Wright is actually William - if so, he may have married Mary WALKER 11 Apr 1832, both from Baldock and had some children with him as William...There are possible William's from Hertfordshire that fit this date (1709 is the most obvious) So my current theory is that this Wright Izzard was actually William (bap 1730). This makes him about 16 when his daughter was born. This means they may not have married, and moved from Willian to Stevenage (about 6 miles).... William took his father's name to perhaps disguise things further????? There are burials of Wright Izzard in 1764 and 1730 in Willian
