Notes - The only obvious baptism for Alice is 3/3/1793 at Macclesfield. If she was baptised young, that would make her 19 when she married, in contravention of the statement that she was 21 or more. But there is no specific evidence of birth.
She does not appear in the 1841 Census in the area, and there is no obvious marriage to somebody else (ie divorcing or leaving Peter). There are possible deaths registered in Stockport in 1838 and 1839, and it is not inconceivable that the bakery business moved from Macclesfield to Stockport to Manchester (1841 Census) as it grew. Alternatively there is the burial of an Alice POTTS in 1837, with a presumed birth in 1788 or 1789 (ie she would be 4 when baptised). However the transcription seems to say Culcheth, which is towards Warrington, and so again presumes a complicated route for the business.....
So the burial on 7/9/1823 is preferred. This is the same day as her daughter Alice was baptised, and we assume that she died in or as a result of Alice's birth.
