    • Assumed to marry Rebecca HAMBLETON Q3 1849, Congleton.

      His occupation does appear to have moved from the silk industry to a policeman, apart from in 1871. Maybe his occupation was misheard, though it seems unlikely. Perhaps he had a second job in the silk industry alongside his police role.
