    • The burial is the only obvious burial is the one given, and thus the birth. There may be alternatives not online, but nevertheless is sufficiently certain to be adopted.

      However there is no obvious baptism record. There are 2 possibles on the internet - Taxal in 1755, but with the family, Samuel and Ann, coming from Whaley (Bridge), but Taxal is 10 miles on foot from Prestbury; or Prestbury in 1745, with the family, Edward and Mary, coming from Bollington.
