Notes - On 31/1/1916 he signed up in the Territorial Force. His address at the time was 248, Stockport Road, Leavenshulme, Manchester, in the 10th (Scottish) Bn., The Kings (Liverpool Regiment). He got a wound in his knee, somewhere on the Western Front either 28 or 30/9/16, having only joined the regiment in the field on 27/9/16.
He was taken prisoner in WW1. Details unclear, but it may have been on 30/11/1917. He was reported missing on 9/12/17 and officially accepted as a POW on 25/1/18 at Dulmen camp.
He was formally discharged 31/1/19
He probably married Evelyn REDFERN Q4, 1924, Chorlton, and then Bessie BOAM Q2, 1945, Blackpool.
