  • Notes
    • Joseph is a difficult person to track down.
The marriage certificate gives his age in 1857 as 31, so his DOB is 1826. His father is given as Joshua, a cotton spinner.
Looking through the baptisms (which of course is not the complete list) identifies a possible baptism on 8 Nov 1822 at Prestbury, Macclesfield, to Josiah, a cotton spinner, and Ellen.

The 1861 Census has him as unmarried, and his DOB does not match what is in the marriage certificate. But there appears to be nothing better.

So it may be that none of the later censusses are correct, and I have not found a more likely alternative, at any date. See also notes on Emma Reddish.
