  In Dec 1877, he is on the list of Fitters, working at Brighton Station for the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway, at 4s per day, which is less than most other fitters, albeit that he was one of the youngest. He is doing the same job in Dec 1891, but now very much a median salary of 6s 2d per day. The burial date is actually the death date from the transcript on findagrave.com.
