    Notes
    • The marriage is almost certainly the correct details, hence it is included. William gives Richard's occupation as ?Corn - factor??? but then it implies that he is also father to William's bride, so maybe not too much care has been taken with this. Richard had died 8 years earlier, and maybe the professions were suffiiciently similar. Likewise this is the only place where Hannah is Hannah Latham ROBINSON, but one of the witnesses is her sister Sarah Ann. There does not appear to be any consistent alternative for Hannah, and certainly nothing that implies Latham as a middle name - clearly something important as their son has Latham as a middle name

  • Notes
    • Marries William NORMAN 24/12/1884 in Eccles, and then marries Edward William TURNER 22/2/1911 at the Cathedral Church in Manchester.

In the 1911 Census which is soon afterwards, she puts herself as Head and Edward as Husband. The address at time of marriage and at the census, 16, Shudehill, Manchester, is what was the Old Moseley Arms, and so presumably Sarah was the one with money. Given that her father was a publican, it is maybe his pub? The Old Moseley Arms was demolished in 1971 to make way for the Arndale Centre and is next to the more famous Ye Olde Rovers Return. There is more information in a separate document.
