Notes - There is no very convincing evidence for James Brown elsewhere. He was present at his son's marriage in 1898.
There is no James Brown living at the same address as Jane Maria Brown, so we assume that she had died by 1901, and if so there are possible James Browns in London in 1901, of which the best is as brother of Sarah HARTWRIGHT, but unfortunately not listed as widowed, rather divorced.
A "Machine Ruler" is essentially a machine operator, but no particular industry involved
