Notes - At her baptism, the address is given as the [coastguard] station outside the parish of New Shoreham. Assuming that it was in the same place as it is in 2020, then she was born at the coastguard station, at the mouth of the River Adur, between Shoreham and Southwick. See separate notes about the life of the various coastguards in the family.
At the 1911 Census she declares 8 children died and 8 still alive.
The marriage to James Littlemore is definite as there are too many reasons to confirm it, but by 1911 Census her surname is TOMS again, though she declares herself as a wife. James Littlemore is married in 1901 and 1911, but without her, so perhaps they just needed to live apart in order to work?
Unhelpfully there is a Mary Elizabeth Harding who dies in Dec 1931, in Camden. However I am fairly sure this is not a further name change. In the 1931 Electoral Roll, she is at 82, Argyle Avenue, Isleworth, with Lionel Bolton Toms, and therefore it seems most likely that she did die in the first quarter of 1932.
